On The Job With Tony

Here are some pictures of Tony at work. He is on a job right now where they are building a coal fired power plant. He is a welding engineer and part of his job includes inspecting welds.

Sometimes he has to climb up into the steel frame to inspect them. In this picture he is about 250 feet up in the air, sitting on a narrow steel beam with nothing beneath him.

Luckily they have to wear harnesses that would catch them if they fell. Still, I am glad I wasn't there watching him. I think I would have held my breath the entire time he was up there, and I'm pretty sure holding my breath for that long would not have been good for me.

The arrow in this second picture shows where he is sitting in the first picture.

Pretty scary! Good thing its not Lonnie who has to do that. Tony was destined to beup high, always the daredevil, builder and climber.

Tony looks like he is in his element. Up high. Not for me. I struggled to climb the ladder by the garage to measure the vent opening.

Wow that is high. It is a good thing they have stringent safety standards these days to help keep them safe!
